FRIZZY HAIR CARE TIPS FROM A CURLY HAIR GIRL
I have incredibly unruly, frizzy, curly, dry hair that expands like a pufferfish at the slightest hint of humidity in the air. #BLESSED right? After 26 years of struggling with my textured tresses, I’ve somehow managed to figure out a few DIY treatments/masks/tips and tricks that make my hair much more manageable! Here are two of my FAEVourite go-to solutions for smoother, less frizzy, shinier hair!
Magic Potion that gets you lit from within:
Yup, you read that right. A few years ago, I chanced upon a recipe for a drink (thanks Farah Dukai) that also works as a great hair tonic, and life has been different ever since. This acne-fighting ‘potion’ is not only delicious to drink, but when spritzed on your hair post hair wash, helps improve a dry, flaky scalp, results in shinier hair, and even reduces hair fall+boosts the growth cycle. Here’s how you can DIY it as a hair tonic:
Fill half a sprayable container up with filtered water. To this add:
1 Tbsp raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother)
A generous splash of fresh apple juice
A few sprinkles of cinnamon powder.
Seal the container and shake it up, apply once a week as a last step after shampooing and conditioning, and then rinse off with water.
You can also make this mixture in a glass/water bottle and sip on it throughout the day. Not only is it delicious, but it also helps fight acne and boost the metabolism
My most favourite hair mask:
This one’s pretty straight forward. Mix 2 TBSP of yoghurt with 1 TBSP of honey, and a spritz of lime, and a drizzle of olive oil. Apply on your hair for an hour before washing, and I promise you will emerge from the shower with shiny, soft, (less frizzy) hair!
Try these simple at-home hacks and let us know if it made a difference to your hair!
Until next time,
